[Throne of the Dragon Queen 02] • Dragon Call

Far away in distant lands, which bear no resemblance to Assimus or Kallisan, the spirits of the last dragons stir. Within their hosts, to which they are tightly bound, they become aware of what they once were and long to be free. One, who would be the Dragon Queen, escapes her bonds and reaches out across space and time to call her brothers to her, but alone she is not strong enough to set them free from the chains which bind them. She needs mans help to make them whole again, but the ones who knew about her kind have gone from the land of dragons.

In Assimus, the Passonians plot the annihilation of the Assimusian race. Already people from across the land have been herded into the Enclave where the King’s Pyromaster prepares his terrible creation to burn the place to the ground. On Fire Mountain the small band of rebels search for ways to prevent the slaughter but they are too few and the people in the Enclave are too downtrodden to fight back. Only the descendant of the ancient Dragon Watchers has a plan, but that involves calling back the last of the dragons which have been dead for over two centuries.

The Elder of Kallisan watches as the ice sheet crushes the first of the islands which makes up his country and prays to the Great God Jurro for their salvation. His god though is silent, and the wall of ice moves inexorably forwards. Across the Sea of Stars the two people he has sent to find a way to save Kallisan are missing, and as the ice continues to threaten his land he can only assume they have failed in their mission. Now he must choose between selling his people into slavery or watching them die beneath the ice.

Time is running out for the people of Assimus and Kallisan, and only the long dead dragons can save them.
