Author Interview

Q: How did you come up with the idea of Super Jax!?

A: I was scheduled to sign books at Phoenix Comic Fest, and I wanted to write a cozy mystery for the event. My husband is into researching energy resources, so he shared his knowledge as I plotted the story on our way back from the Tucson Festival of Books.

Q: What is your favorite part of the story?

A: While Jax’s boyfriend is in jail, she tries to prove his innocence with the help of her best friend. They have no clue what they’re doing. To make matters worse, she doesn’t know how to use her superpowers. It would be like driving a car for the first time without ever riding in one or given a single lesson. Some scenes reminded me of cartoons.

Q: Does the story include a romance?

A: Yes, this sweet, clean romance will expand over the series. In this first book, we discover the romantic conflict between Jax and her scientist boyfriend. Because he spends part of the book in jail, the story mainly centers more on how she becomes a superhero. In the editorial review, The City Sun Times called it her origin story. The second book will continue the romance.
