H.R.F. Keating is best known as the creator of Inspector Ghote of the Bombay Police. He has twice won the CWA Gold Dagger, and in 1996 was awarded the CWA Cartier Diamond Dagger. He lives in London with his wife, the actress Sheila Mitchell, who has read many of his books featuring Harriet Martens as audiobooks. Among Sheila Mitchell's theatrical roles are as Claudia in When the Barbarians Came, Miss Erikson in Present Laughter and Mabel in Separate Tables.
