A steam-powered city is being run by a vicious madman. Darkness plagues the vacant streets while mechanical menaces hunt anyone with magical powers.

Mac Blackburn is special, only she doesn’t yet know just how special she is. When her family is suddenly wrongly accused for an attack on a relative of a prominent government official, Mac finds herself stranded inside the city, with a team of assassins after her.

The sudden appearance of handsome stranger wishing to aid Mac brings about a revelation she never saw coming, but also makes her twice as vulnerable.

With danger lurking around every corner, not knowing who is friend or foe. Mac must somehow survive long enough to find her way back home.
