Sixteen-year-old Jennifer Daniels didn’t deserve it.

An evil man ripped her family apart by kidnapping the teenager and addicting her to drugs. He planted false evidence that her father was a child molester, and the father she adored committed suicide in jail. The shame and shock ruined the health of her delicate mother, and she died. On the last day of her life, she stumbled into a police stakeout guarding a big walk-in safe in the basement of an abandoned house. Four policemen and eight cameras surrounded the house. The police searched the house before taking their positions. It held nothing.

Jenny ran past them and locked herself in the safe. When the police opened the safe, they found that someone had driven a wicked, great knife into her chest and run away.

The police called on private detectives, Tanner and Rhiana Brown, for help on this impossible crime. Rhiana has an advantage. She's Welsh, and the Welsh are a mystical people.
