Living Wasteland

In a tucked-away pocket of a sprawling city is a tiny suburb by the name of Heavestone. Hidden by the inhabitants and forgotten by everyone outside, it houses the refugees of an equally obscure colony of Mars- Miralay.Eponine Westal is one such refugee. Brought to Earth by his parents as an infant, he has lived in Heavestone for as long as he has remembered, exploring the edges of the outside world at night and hiding in Heavestone with his fellow Miralayans by day. Life is stable, if not a bit boring, ekeing out an existence comfortable but by no means lavish.But, he (and everyone else in Heavestone) rationalizes, it's better than living under the totalitarian grasp of Miralay, a colony created by the company Alegria, Inc. as a mere pet project.But one night, while exploring, he comes across a girl named Serlis, a Miralayan hidden away and raised with only a computer as a companion. Freeing Serlis is his first reaction- Heavestone is a safer place for a refugee than the basement of a bankrupt dollar store.Safer than Miralay, at least.But Serlis wants to go back.(This is the Second Edition, published February 2019.)
