Quinn Galloway and her husband Ethan are enjoying their early retirement just fine. The cabin is cozy, the fire is warm, and the cold country air is just what Quinn needs to leave the city behind and settle into life on their very own mountain. Ethan is happy, too, spending his time with the dogs outside, traipsing the woods and exploring their new land. So Quinn isn't too surprised when he doesn't come home after one early morning trek through the woods. She makes her coffee, finds a book to read, and waits. He'll be home soon - she's used to his ways.

Except that Ethan doesn't come home, and the mountain is more deadly than she can ever imagine. By the time night falls the cozy cabin is a snowbound prison, surrounded by plenty of predators. For Quinn Galloway, winter is now the enemy.
