When Tara and Brandon travel through time back to the Civil War era to rescue her brother from the dark demons, she discovers her doppelganger, Lucy, is lying in a trance awaiting the return of her soul, which Tara is using. With the soul in close proximity to both doppelgangers, things get pretty sticky... but, not just for the soul! It turns out Brandon is a time traveler who is engaged to Lucy, but also loves Tara.
