Once again barely escaping with their lives after facing off with the Children of the Event, Era, Jadren, and Laria are running for their lives. Heading for the relative safety of the Freeman camp.

But as so often happens in Era's life, things don't turn out quite the way she expected. She finds that she has swapped one dire situation for another.

And when she spies her beloved Saskia's face among the sea of Enforcer's faces that have gathered outside of the walls of the Freeman camp she puts herself in danger once again trying to save her friend.

Shadows of Shadows

After the devastating skirmish at the Freeman camp Era, Jadren, and Laria head further into the Outlands in search of the Restored Society's genetic facility.

There's no evidence of life as they move further out. No birds, no animals, no insects even in this desolate wasteland.

The Event burned the world. Literally, with nuclear fire.

Perhaps they were wrong. Perhaps the Society had nothing out this far after all. Exhausted and a little defeated the trio pause to regroup.

Things change in an instant when one of them disappears into a sinkhole along with their meager supplies.

Not sure what awaits them down the hole the remaining two have no choice but to follow. Who knows what awaits them in the darkness below.
