Identical twins Susan and Chris, high-school seniors, hatch a plot to find out what the boys really think about the girls. Chris fakes an illness and then goes to school as her mythical cousin Charlie from Chicago. By the end of the story, the twins and their two friends have been matched with perfect dates, ``Charlie'' returns to Chicago with no one the wiser, and the twins have discovered most of the intricacies of communicating with the opposite sex.
