Kaylie Thomas has a secret. She travels in her dreams. And sometimes, she meets other people.

Dylan Garret is only sixteen and already a star athlete when the dreams start. In them he meets the same beautiful young girl over and over again. Like him, she seems lost in the desolate worlds he visits in his sleep.

When he begins college years later he is shocked to see the girl from his dreams on campus, working in the kitchens that serve the athletics department. She's as startled as he is, but when he tries to get close to her, she always runs.

Dylan isn't the only one who is drawn to the quiet beauty though. When he finds himself protecting her from a group of rowdy teammates, something else happens to him. Something strange.

Kaylie awakens a curse that was dormant inside Dylan. Until now. He is descended from an ancient line of shifters whose blood had been diluted over the centuries. Can they figure out together how to tame the beast?
