The Shaitans may have been the first aliens encountered, and they might have been scary to the humans at that time; but after well over a millennia with historical hindsight, the Shaitans seemed laughably primitive. If there was an alien race that almost wiped the human race off the face of the Galaxy, it was the second alien race that the humans encountered. The Bodars and their Bodoni Protectorate could have stamped out the human race as easily as crushing insects in the early years. It was only the relative primitiveness of human technology, and the compulsive Bodar need for sport, that made the Bodar commander spare Earth and its human population from instant annihilation.
The Bodoni invasion was the only instance when an alien enemy actually occupied Earth. The Bodoni invasion came at a time in human history, when almost all humans lived in one single planet: Earth. There were just a few tens of thousands of humans living beyond the inner Solar system. Most of those were settlers in Alpha Shaitan and the fledgling human colony on World #4 taken over from the Shaitans. Humanity at that time had no friends or allies in the galaxy. No one was coming to the aid of the human species. If human species had been exterminated at that moment in history, Homo Sapiens would have joined the incredibly long list of extinct species in the galaxy.
If there was anyone who could come to the aid of Earth, it was only the handful of space Navy personnel and Marines on the Shaitan worlds, who happened to be there prosecuting the final stages of the Shaitan Wars when the Bodoni super ship “Ravenous” attacked Earth.
