Brilliant young physicist Edwina Goodman is just starting out her academic career at an Ivy League college when an eccentric, visiting physicist professor from Cambridge University is found dead in his campus digs. Overcome by guilt for having cut her dinner date with him short the night before his untimely death, Edwina is compelled to help young detective William Tenney with the investigation.
