Mid-Victorian England, and a young voluptuous vagrant, Olivia, is sentenced to hard labour in the notorious House of Correction, where discipline and punishment are freely administered and Olivia finds no respite from either the birch or the amorous embraces of the sexually frustrated inmates.

When released she unwittingly embarks upon a journey that takes her into the dark underworld of London, where her chastity is under constant assault. But although determined to remain pure, Olivia gradually discovers her own desires and finds resistance increasingly difficult.
