Fed up with the cut-throat competition and an uninspiring retail job, she decides to open up her own art gallery…in Italy. Leaving behind her longtime boyfriend and apartment in Greenwich Village, she builds a new life for herself in fashionable Milan. Reconnecting with an old college friend, renowned sculptor Lorenzo Fiatti, Coretta basks in romance in sun-kissed northern Italy. As her career and love life are flourishing, she hosts a champagne reception at her new gallery. When a blackout strikes, several of her paintings are stolen, while the burgeoning artist is kidnapped and held for ransom.
