[Iron of the Highlands 03] • The Highlander’s Passion

An independent young lass, a soldier with a penchant for trouble, and an ambitious man who wants it all....

Seonaid McCarrick is an independent and subtly beautiful young lass who has lived her whole life on the quay side of Leith, where her father is a merchant captain. Captain McCarrick introduces her to a fellow merchant captain on the hopes of her wedding him so he can be assured of her safety and security before his next voyage. Seonaid does her best to please her father and learn to care for Alec, but when she meets Everett McDowell, and rescues him from an angry mob, things take an unexpected, and dangerous, turn.

The kind and intelligent captain's daughter finds herself on the run for her life with Everett after they are both attacked by a group of unknown men. Seonaid and Everett must flee Leith and seek refuge with her father's long time friend. When they tries to get home to try and find the thugs who attacked them, they are attacked yet again, where Seonaid is abducted.

A Loyal Protector

Everett McDowell has reason to mistrust the puppet-king Baliol and is trying to raise an army to rebel against him when he is rescued from certain trouble by the beautiful Miss McCarrick. Unable to forget about her, he goes back into Leith repeatedly, just to try and see her. During one of his visits, they are viciously attacked in an alley near her home while seeing her back home, and the only way to protect her is to quickly get her away from town. While on the run, Everett makes Seonaid his bride.

When she is abducted upon their return, Everett must quickly find where Seonaid was taken and mount a speedy rescue. Severely injured, and using newly found information as much needed leverage, they make a final attempt to gain freedom from the calculating ambition of Captain Westford, and save her father from his thieving ways as well.

A Fiery Love

Finally free of Alec Westford, and his group of hired thugs, Everett and Seonaid are able to focus on repairing her damaged relationship with her beloved father. They can also finally allow Everett's battered body to heal from all of his numerous injuries sustained from the attacks. Life, and love, will not be easy for an independent Lowland lass and a strong-willed Highland lad with danger lurking in every dark alley.

Can Seonaid trust a troublemaker – or will she acquiesce to the cold heart of the captain?
