Mature reading.
For fans of and from the inspirations of Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, After by Anna Todd, and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley comes a new story of forbidden love and dark tragedy.
To awaken the dormant woman within her, she'll have to accept falling in love first. But it will all come with a cost.
When seventeen-year-old Rose Hawthorne - who fears falling in love and never wants to be one of the fallen - moves to Michigan from Georgia with her family, she’ll continue in keeping her heart sheltered from the unknown. Until he appears out of nowhere in the high school she’ll be newly attending. Taking one glance at him while frozen on her knees and held captive in his eyes, she loses her sense of everything around her, causing her to sabotage all she’s worked so hard on.
Since being captivated by alluring Thomas Williams, she can’t help but wonder what dark secret he harbors, and what dark secret the meadows are hiding. And with the truth coming to light, she can only feel an attraction too hard to kill and feel emotions she doesn’t understand emerging faster than she can comprehend. Suddenly, she decides whether to give into love and be loved or allow him to keep her at bay. Yet falling in a forbidden love, she doesn’t realize the dormant woman blooming within her.
With the high school dramatics, things that go bump in the night trying to kill her, and a horrifying past slowly coming to life without her realizing, all her doubts and fears force her to question her sanity. It’s enough her heart and soul are unprepared to confront the hellish downward-spiral her life will soon darkly follow.
“Your heart’s beating really fast. Are you afraid?” he whispers in my ear as he continues to kiss my face and throat.
I find my voice. “No.”
“Then, what?” he pushes, asking in that sexy husky, thick, low throaty voice of his.
I gulp again. “Okay,” I say, trying to focus on my breathing. “Let’s say for argument’s sake, I am afraid. What are you going to do about it?”
“I could tempt you. Right here, right now.” He suckles against my skin by my throat, nipping it lightly with a baby canine.
My body responds with a little jolt.
“I could bite your skin right here,” he speaks in an alluring voice. He pulls down my hoodie off my shoulders from one side, and with the same index finger, pushes aside my tank strap as his mouth lands between my shoulder and neck. But it’s not his teeth that I’m expecting other than a kiss. “I could tear your tank top. Rip your shorts to shreds with my teeth and nails,” he whispers huskily next to my ear.
He’s teasing me. He is, but I succumb to everything he’s doing and saying. Because it’s all so damn hot and new.
Below, a pulse reverberates to life, bigger than before. And as his hand trails down past my belly, I want to moan, yet stay in control. He catches my mouth with his and kisses me with passion as he puts me on top of him. Not ten seconds last, and he’s on top of me with my hands trapped underneath his above my head.
“What game are we playing at?” I ask him as he reads me with his dark blue eyes.
He smiles mischievously. “Your game.”
