"Book 07 of the twelve book Worlds Apart saga finds the Pathfinder Ship Pegasus and her remaining crew farther away from home than they have ever been before; in a remote quadrant of space without maps, charts, or direction.

The recovery of an ancient navigation system from a wrecked starship points them to Yronwode (Ironwood). Once they land, they discover they can never leave, because Yronwode was the prison planet of the former Galactic Commonwealth. The ancients designed the planet to be impossible to escape from.

Worse, the centuries-long Cold War that has existed between the descendants of the prisoners on one side and the descendants of the religious missionaries who came to redeem them on the other is about to get hot. The prisoners mass for a massive attack against the last refuge of the missionaries.
