Patriot, a battered soldier from the East, stumbles into a grimy Borderlands town where he falls in love with Emma, the Seamstress’ daughter. When Emma is kidnapped, he gives chase only to be ambushed by zombie slaves of the Witch. “Don’t bury them, they may not be dead!” his rescuer chides. Thus warned, Patriot plunges into a world of sorcery and discovers his sword has special powers of its own. Can he wield this enchanted talisman against the Witch’s dark magic and save Emma?

*From the Author:*

This is a Dungeons & Dragons inspired fantasy set in the Old Northwest. Instead of ruined castles and haunted moors, think spooky abandoned forts, hastily-built frontier settlements filled with ne’er-do-wells, and cavalry sabers aplenty.

In *Witch* there are nods to some of my favorites: *‘Salem’s Lot, The Haunting of Hill House, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward,* the *Thieves’ World* anthologies, and even a nod to the movie *Alien.* The zombies in the book were inspired by those in *The Serpent and the Rainbow.*
