While exploring the ruins of the ancient Peruvian Norte Chico civilization, a group of archeologists unearth a mummified corpse buried in the side of a cliff. As the team examines the find, a debilitating sickness spreads among them. They have released Lamashtu, the bringer of disease and death, and must find a way to destroy it.
Lamashtu is a fresh perspective on the iconic Mummy trope. While it has it roots in the long-familiar legend, Cooley’s modern adaptation moves the action from Egypt to South America. He reinvents the ancient story by mixing Peruvian and Sumerian mythology to create a twisted tale that is classic Cooley.
