Freedom Island speculates on a dystopian future for the European Union.

From the decades of European austerity, there rose an elite: those with political connections—who see themselves as the most able. Below them, the disenfranchised masses, expected to do as they are told.

Within the law, increased criminalisation and pin-point repression combine with divide and rule. ‘Deviations’ are to be stamped-out.

But in some corners of the Union, there is Resistance.

A man and a woman; one an establishment insider and the other an outsider, fight against a system designed to remove freedom and identity.

I wrote this because I'm a fan of dystopian novels, including the greats such as 1984, We and Brave New World ... but please don't compare my efforts to their genius! I love Europe, but the EU seems to be Europe making the same old mistakes. I hope you will find something in here that interests or amuses you. If you read it, thank you.
