Chatelaine of the Guild

By tradition, the Chatelain of the Guild is a lady. She has to arbitrate between the Patron of the Guild and its Master. When the old Chatelaine died in mysterious circumstances, Queen Victoria asked eighteen-year old Samantha to take over. Revolution has broken out across Europe. Kings and Emperors have been deposed. In Britain, the Chartists are planning huge demonstrations. Ruthless agitators plan to subvert the Chartist rallies to achieve violent revolution. The army has been called in to defend London. The police force, forbidden to carry weapons, relies upon the skills of the Guild of Magicians to deter armed criminals. London is heading towards civil war. The Guild has been asked to protect the city. Can they achieve this? Can Samantha keep the Guild together? The revolutionaries are determined to destroy the Guild. Did they murder Samantha's predecessor, and is she their next target?
