Beneath the quaint facade of unassuming Vancouver, where some luxuriate on private yachts and others binge on heroin and prostitution, one man flies, one blackmails, and another needs a dentist.

Picking up in the flaming aftermath of Burn, Rock Solid reaches further still into the depths of humanity's desire, greed, and unfaltering stupidity as blackmail begins to take hold.

From Vancouver's cushy condo love seats to the filthy go-go brothels of Bangkok and the mountains of Kenya, Rock Solid will leave you gaping as Paul Slatter takes another journey through the hideaways of the seedy, the exploitative, and the just plain strange.

Praise for Book 1 - "Burn":

Book 1 was a fantastic read. I am waiting for book 2

Five Stars - Thank you

Russian criminals can be more sadistic than many, even when in the U.S. They are sometimes smarter than the police. This is a case that you don't see coming..

A wickedly crafted tale filled with all the elements to make it a guaranteed page turner. Highly recommended!. Very much looking forward to the next one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Fast paced, funny, and with unexpected twists. Believable characters with charisma. Well done - when is the next one coming out?

Absolutely great read. Loved the book from page one on and couldn't put it down. Many twists and turns will keep you on your toes every time you turn a page and best of all.... It's hilariously funny. Read it!!! Unlike some of the characters, you have nothing to loose!

This book is a surprise. The strange pairing of dark violence, and the gross criminal underworld where a single deranged ex-con can arrive and commander a the streets of an unsuspecting city.... with so much cheeky comedy? There are so many laughs and chuckles that sometimes you forget how serious the plot really is. It's a great read for this reason---you really get what's best about literature, being transported into an entirely different world that is still somehow feels familiar. And from a first time author. Pretty good stuff, and definitely a sign that there's a lot more to come.

I'm glad to have stumbled upon this book because it really is unlike anything I've read before. The author has a very unique voice and a skillful hand at the ability to surprise - making you squirm with repulsion at one point and then burst with laughter the very next moment. All in all, it's a wild ride. The tension is ripe from the get-go and you can never be prepared for what is to happen next. I also like how Slatter keeps the proceedings moving swiftly - the pace of it working greatly for the comedy of this kind. Can't wait to read other installments in this series.
