Annie nee Trumbull Slosson (1838-1926) was an American author and entomologist. She was an important short story writer who epitomised the American local colour movement that flourished after the Civil War and ended at the beginning of the twentieth century. She wrote for the Sundayschool press and at the same time began her studies of the insect world, publishing in different journals. Her works include: The China Hunter's Club (1878), Fishin' Jimmy (1889), Seven Dreamers (1890), Dumb Foxglove and Other Stories (1898) and Story-Tell Lib (1900).
