ELLIS PARKER BUTLER [1869-1937] was born in Iowa. He worked as a banker in New York City and wrote part-time. His writing output was phenomenal: 30 books and more than 2,000 stories, poems, and articles. From 1906 through 1935 he contributed stories to Woman's Home Companion. Additionally, he wrote for two-hundred-twenty-five other magazines. He was a founder of the Author's League of America.
