Justin DeWeese had spent his life living in the shadows. As the runt of his family he had been an outcast. Once he left them behind he figured he’d always live a life of solitude. No mate would want a runt, no pack would either. His dream of owning a horse stable one day seemed hopeless without his trust fund money. Working odd construction jobs wasn’t making him any richer either.

When he ended up at the Kamp bar down on the outskirts of New Orleans he found more. Justin found a pack that accepted him. When a local rich man needed a new stable manager he found his dream job, and so much more.

Veronica Miller just graduated grad school, and planned on spending the summer working for her parent’s stable. She was happiest around her horses, and was looking forward to a calm summer before the real world started. The new stable manager was making her anything, but calm. With a body that made her drool, and dark eyes that seemed to be made just for her.

Justin’s past comes to haunt them in more ways than one. Veronica finds that she’s no longer a girl who will stand by when she sees what she wants. She may not know a lot about being a mate, but she knows she knows that she’s Justin’s and she won’t let him get away. Together they have to find a path that fits both of them, in the middle of chaos meant to tear them apart.
