It’s been a month since Gary Nillon and his group’s integration into C. In that time, they see there are two types of people in this organization—those who thrive on the misfortunes of others and those who keep quiet.

Like any ordinary day, is the mantra Gary repeats even as he clashes every step of the way with his superiors. His compassion is all the rebellion he has left because if Gary wants to provide a home in this dangerous world, he will remain silent and obey. The shelter isn’t just lumber and nails. It’s a sanctuary from the madness and alienation each feels outside its walls, and Gary will jump through whatever hoops C. throws at him to keep it.

Until one day it’s not enough.

Now Gary and his people must look to the moral compass inside each of them, and decide whether they’ll stay for surface security, knowing they’ll never really be safe, or detach from C.’s insanity and gain the entire organization as an enemy.

Whatever choice they make, wherever they end up, they must do it together, and learn that family doesn’t only mean bloodline.
