Primi capitis lib. V, 14, 12 usque ad VIII, 3, 64, lib. VIII, 6, 17 - VIII, G, 67, lib. VIIII, 3, 2 - X, 1, 107, lib. XI, 1, 71 extr. - XI, 2, 23, denique lib. XII, 10, 43 usque ad finem. Aliud praeterea damnum Bernensis temporum iniuria passus est; perierunt enim in eo duo priores chartae primi quaternionis, ut nunc incipiat a secundi capitis primi libri paragrapho quinta media. Aetate hic liber omnibus, qui adhuc noti sunt, antecellit, ac uerisimill�mum uidetur reliquos codices, in quibus eaedem lacunae exstant, a Bernensi deriuatos esse; Ambrosianum qui dem secundum, qui ut Bernensis saeculo decimo exaratus est, et Bambergensem ex Bernensi descriptos esse certissimis indians comprobatum est. Cum autem hac codicum familiae multae lacunae, quae in Ambrosiano I inueniuntur expleantur nec panca eiusdem Optimi libri uitia corrigantur, mirum non uidebitur eas partes librorum Quintiliani quae in Bernensi et eius familia desiderantur, multo uitiosiores ad nostrain aetatem peruenisse quam reliquas, in quibus lectiones et Ambrosiani et Bernensis cognitae sunt.
