The year is 1857. For nearly three years, Tucker Morgan has been adventuring on the great plains and in the mountains with his friend, the master hunter and guide, Grant Holloway.

Now it is time to leave the wilderness and return to Salt Lake City to purchase land, to marry, and to raise children.

As Mormons, Tuck and Holloway plan to seek wives among their own people, and in their dreaming they carry noble images of the mountain park they will develop into a homeplace with stout cabins and open fields. Morgan's Park recounts Tucker and Holloway's adventures in accomplishing those daunting tasks.

Morgan's Park is the final volume of The Gun of Joseph Smith trilogy. Volume one, The Gun of Joseph Smith, began in the year 1850 when Tucker Morgan was only twelve years old, and his family was crossing the plains. The sequel, Tuck Morgan Plainsman, rejoined Tucker and Grant Holloway during Tuck's eighteenth year.

Now Tucker is twenty and the excitement, dangers, and sometimes violence of his adventures continue.
