Ellen Monroe had lost her mind, her world reduced to the barest existence: her small apartment, her job at the bookstore, coffee from the shop across the street, and twice weekly sessions with her court-appointed psychiatrist because she suffers from amnesia, delusions, and paranoia … and her shrink is the only one keeping her out of jail. She has no memories of her life from before the Sanity’s Edge Saloon, and the Sanity’s Edge Saloon is impossible, a way station at the edge of madness and dreams, a train-stop in an endless wasteland inhabited by mad wizards, horrific monsters and a lonely caretaker named Jack Lantirn, a wannabe writer looking after this insane world of magic and dust.

But Jack did not exist. The Sanity’s Edge Saloon and the wasteland did not exist. Nothing she remembered ever existed. Because she was crazy.

It didn’t change the fact that someone was definitely following her.

In this second installment of The Sea and the Wasteland series, Ellen must discover whether there is any truth to the reality of Jack Lantirn and the Sanity’s Edge Saloon, or whether the only way back from the edge of madness begins with abandoning everything and everyone she has ever known.
