Maggie Stewart, an accountant in her late twenties, is happily pursuing a career in an Edinburgh pharmaceutical company. When a series of brutal murders takes place at the surreal Icehotel in Sweden where she is holidaying with friends, she tries desperately to uncover both the motive and the true identity of the killer before she becomes his next victim. It is when she returns to Edinburgh that she realises justice has not been served, and she is forced to confront a truth which shatters her belief in friendship, leaving her life in tatters.
