Simon Gandolfi's books about Trent, a retired British secret agent living in the Bahamas in Ian Fleming-like style, are big hits in England, and his latest work shows why their popularity is fully justified. A 13-year-old boy out catching crabs witnesses a drug plane crash that kills the crew. The boy, called Jacket, hides the cargo, bringing down the wrath of both the dealers and the Drug Enforcement Agency. An honest local cop asks Trent to help him protect the boy--an offer which the wily old agent can't refuse. Good, modern action with a nice touch of nostalgia for the early Bond books.
