Imagine a land where drugs are legal, reproductive rights are unquestioned, gay marriage is celebrated, nature is unpolluted, socialism is implemented, diversity is unchallenged, and racial harmony perfected. Imagine a land without conservative strictures, Christian moralism, and constitutional antiquarianism. Imagine a progressive utopia in the south Pacific.

Better yet, imagine what might happen if progressives and radicals decided to form a new country based exclusively (or must we say inclusively?) on leftist ideals rather than customs and constitutions founded by Puritan fanatics, Yankee traders, and Virginia gentlemen. The year is 2001 and a new country has been founded among the nations—a State of Paradise freed from the corruptions and compromises of the Old World. Here Hollywood celebrities Ryan Godson and his wife Kit Fairchild lead a band of hand-chosen compatriots to show what it means to live in a land without private property, a society without firearms, and a culture without moral judgment. On an isolated Pacific island, this intrepid assembly of feminists, pacifists, socialists, libertarians, communists, environmentalists, multiculturalists, and progressives of every hue will establish a secular utopia as the newest state among the nations.

Disgusted by the election of George W. Bush and the American population that elected him, the secular pilgrims have emigrated to a New World to build a truly great society in a tropical paradise. Freed from every barrier to leftists ideals, this progressive community is finally free to be itself. Only one question now remains: will the United States Marines arrive in time to save them from each other?
