I created this eBook to
gather as many of F. Paul Wilson’s short stories and novellas as possible.
All the stories contained
within this exhaustive collection were either scanned by me from originally
published print-material that I owned; or in one instance, converted from an
electronic version (that I had previously purchased).
As such, some of these versions
may differ slightly than what may be found in newer collections/versions; as
the author (or his editor) decided to “update” some portions of the
text/words/spelling etc. of some of the stories.
Rest assured, I present every
single word of these stories/novellas as originally written by the author –
nothing has been altered or omitted.
For technical reasons, I
omitted the author’s two published screenplays from my collection. These two
items just did not “translate” well into the eBook format very well (without
losing the author’s original layout/intent of how the screenplay was to be
read).
I also decided not include
several of the author’s longer novellas for two main reasons:
1) After scanning/cleaning
and formatting them, most of them were near or over 100 pages long; and for
space considerations decided against including them
2) Many of the novellas were
also word-for-word excerpts from existing novels, and again, for space
considerations (as well as not wanting to duplicate text), I decided not to
include them here.
I formatted all the material
to display, as best possible, on current eReaders, while keeping the original
layout design and format as closely as possible. It is essential to understand that due to the
variables of the eReaders, how the owner has the device set to display text and
the software (or settings in Calibre) someone uses to convert my epub into a
different file format – the individual “reading experience” may vary from my
original intent.
One note about the spelling,
punctuation and grammar found in this eBook. Due to the author’s writing styles
in many of these stories, his use of specific medical terms/terminology, and
his reproducing of certain dialects/ways his characters speak, there may appear
to be several errors that I missed during the format phase of constructing this
eBook. I strove to correct all spelling and punctuation errors created during
the “scanning” phase. I apologize for any minor errors I may have missed.
Finally, it is my sincerest
desire that you have the best possible reading experience when reading these
wonderful stories from F. Paul Wilson.
