Former bad-boy Drew Seaforth comes home to his small tourist town in the North Carolina mountains after spending eight years in the Army, to take over his dad's auto service business. He drops in to his old hangout, only to find that it's no longer the Sweet Shoppe. It's now called Andie's Candies, and it's jam-packed with customers.

Andie herself is Andrea Schubert, the girl whose junior prom he ruined. It wasn't his intention, but she's never forgiven him.
