Rowen Greensmith loves her family. As much as they may get on each other’s nerves, she prides herself on how close they are. But familial closeness has its limits. There are things even family members keep from one another. Like Peony’s apparent talent for painting. Who knew she was capable of something like that? Not Rowen!
When Peony’s art is accepted into a local art show, everyone is thrilled. It’s high time some recognition came Peony’s way. The art world may be fickle and snooty, but Peony has been handling herself wonderfully. Rowen and the rest of the family couldn’t be prouder. At least, that would have been the case had a murder not occurred on opening night.
Now Rowen is in a race to find the murderer before suspicions turn to her and her family. Worse than that, she’s forced to face an unsettling truth she’s never quite gotten used to. She might not know her family as well as she thinks she does. Did Peony have a hand in this murder? Surely not! Rowen sets out to solve it regardless. Hopefully, she won’t be horrified with what she finds.
Novella (approx. 50,000 words). Eleventh Volume of the Lainswich Witches Mystery Series. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book, no cliffhanger).
