Penny is smart and pretty and she can get more than a bit geeky about history. She’s just arrived in Athens on her first trip overseas and she is enjoying the sights and the food and that warm Mediterranean sun.

All that changes at a furtive archaeological dig. Now Penny is on the run, lost and alone in the middle of Europe without even a phrase-book, dogged by an implacable pursuer and threatened by a phantom killer.

What nobody could have expected was that Athena Fox, the globe-trotting adventurer of Penny’s YouTube show, would take on a life of her own. Least of all Penny herself.

Penny’s odyssey to get back to Athens and uncover the secrets of the mysterious Enceladus Calyx will take her from the depths of the Black Forest to the crowded tents of Oktoberfest, through a chase across the hundred bridges of Venice to a struggle for survival in the waters of the Adriatic.

Penny will need to be clever as a fox to survive. The pride of a people and a priceless archaeological treasure are at stake. But the bad guys really should have learned one thing from the classics — that it is never safe to bet against Athena.
