A princess has little say in the happenings of her life, and the Princess Arine Katalina is no exception. When Kata attends the birthday celebration of a neighboring prince she survives two impossible first, a deadly attack by a revolutionary group, and second, Alek, the first man who has ever captured her attention. Unfortunately, Alek is the Crown Prince of Demarde. And even worse luck, Demarde is where Kata will spend the next year training to become a warrior. Strengthening friendships and growing in skill comes naturally before Kata’s perfect world starts to develop cracks. If fighting her growing attraction to Alek were not enough, Kata soon realizes that the world is not as peaceful as she once believed. Monarchies topple as an unknown power grows in the North, spreading across the land like a disease as history begins repeating itself. Racing against the clock, Kata must search for the key that will end this new reign of terror, something that she has been fated for since birth. Though if she does, neither the revolutionary Nationalists nor the North will have any reason to keep her alive.
