Corpuless

Taking a break from moonstones and the elements, Evan, his twin sister Samantha, and their friends spend their summer break at Quela, a place known for its ruins, glyphs, and secrets. However, soon they realize Quela has issues: the rotting bodies of dogs are attacking the villagers, and once bitten, the people begin to fall under the control of an ancient monster at nighttime. After Evan is attacked and his life is at stake, Samantha, Joby, and Oliver put their own lives at risk in their attempts to save him. Meanwhile Samantha and Joby's romantic relationship begins to have problems. Are they better off as friends, or will love find a way?

Samantha is willing to reason with the monster behind all this: Corpuless. But who is the true victim and villain when Corpuless had once been killed unfairly by the ancestors of the villagers? Can he be reasoned with, or will the villagers have something to say to this? A tale exploring the grayness of good and evil.

This is the third book in the Moonstone series, but each has its own standalone plot, so reading in order is not necessary, but recommended. Intended for teens and up.
