The real killer is found, and Amanda drives off in search of Alex

Amanda is shocked when the police find the man responsible for her husband’s death, and though it is a member of The Unknowns, the man has nothing to do with Alex. She is filled with regret for not trusting Alex and sets out on an impossible mission, to find a man who doesn’t want to be found.

He meets up with his club, broken and full of anger

Alex meets up with The Unknowns, vowing never to fall in love again. He is broken and angry, determined to push everyone away for good.

They must find the courage to confide, and heal the mistakes of the past

When Amanda reaches Alex she tells him that no matter what, she will be with him and that if he ever finds the courage to confide in her, she will stand by him. Alex has to do what he has never been able to in all of his life: tell the truth about his past in order to secure a happy future.

**EXCERPT**

“I mean… if you’re going to stay here with me or if you’re going to head out and start your life up.”

He thought about this for a moment and shrugged. “I was sort of hoping I could do both at once. I’d like to start my life over, but I’d like for you to be a part of it.”

She smiled and leaned over for a kiss. It was quick and sweet. The passion in his kisses was another indicator of his lifestyle change. She knew he loved her even though he had not yet come out and said it. She could tell in the way he kissed her and even the way he looked at her across the room.

“I’d like that, too,” she said. She slid over next to him and kissed his cheek. “But there’s one other question that we need to address first,” she said.

“Yeah? What’s that?”

She kissed him again, this time making it longer. When their tongues met, it was like electricity.

“If I climb on top of you, is your knee going to be able to handle it?”
