Martin, Crook, & Bill

Strange things come in threes. The disappearance of a teenager, the return of a native son and the murder of the Sheriff appear to be unrelated occurrences in the small, South Dakota farm town. Though the events happen in rapid succession, no one connects them, but connected they are in ways that will never be known.

In August, 1992, Missy Peters vanishes. The popular teenager can not be found despite a State wide search. That same month, Martin Webster returns. The one time local hero is a broken man slinking back in the night to the abandoned farm house of his father. One month later the powerful County Sheriff Hauk is found in his house, murdered.

Martin, his neighbor Bill, and his friend, Crook overcome upheaval, murder and mayhem in methods unique to them to save Missy, and ultimately to rebuild themselves.
