This is a Strandline SHORT STORY: Before they find the safety of the S-Line Ranch, Richmond Parrish and his sisters struggle to stay alive in one of the last units of the Junior Militia. Camped on the shore of Lake Monroe in what's left of Sanford, Florida the child soldiers must try to make sense of a world after solar flares turn the power grid off for good. When Darby, Parrish's youngest sister, discovers an old man living in Sanford she remembers what it is to have a friend in a friendless world.
