Self professed boat bum Chase Hawkins is living the dream aboard his thirty five foot sailboat Paramour.
But once he runs afoul of local crime boss Santiago Acosta, the dream quickly turns into a nightmare. Forced to captain a drug boat to the Florida Keys to repay his debts, Chase is thrown into a world of violence, backstabbing, and double crosses.
Pursued by the authorities and under scrutiny from Acosta’s crime syndicate, can Chase safely navigate the treacherous waters of The Keys drug trade or will he flounder, never to be seen again?
About the Author
CJ Schnier, born in Cocoa Beach, Florida, moved around the country with his family before finally settling in the sleepy landlocked town of Camden, South Carolina. Upon graduation from high school in 2002, Schnier immediately made his way back to the water when he attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. While there, he took part in the school’s volunteer maritime search and rescue team EC-SAR, responding to nearly 250 emergencies in his three years on the team. At Eckerd, Schnier also rekindled a love for sailing, spending his free time on his friend’s Hobie Cat, the school’s fleet of small sailboats, or walking the docks dreaming of cruising the world. Upon leaving school, Schnier landed a managing job at West Marine, selling retail boating supplies. In 2008 he switched careers, taking a job as a deckhand for an inland shipping company. Nearly nine years later he would walk away from that job to pursue his dream by moving aboard his 41 year old sailboat Paramour. Living aboard full time at anchor or cruising the waters of Tampa Bay, he truly lives the life he loves to write about. When not traveling, CJ Schnier spends most of his time writing and outfitting Paramour for an extended cruise of the Caribbean.
