Kalam, a young doctor from the city of Assur, emigrates to Ninevah, the capital of the Assyrian empire, with his wife Damkira and their son Nabui. Thanks to his medical skills, he manages to save the life of the almighty king Assarhaddon. To show gratitude, Kalam is named as his personal physician and Kalam and his family move into the royal palace. But, the young doctor’s happiness doesn’t last long. Assarhaddon becomes infatuated with Damkira and tries to send Kalam away to war against the dreaded Cimmerians. Thus begins a long journey that will take you from the Pharaohs of Egypt to the Yuezhi of Kushan. Hatred and revenge will guide their steps to Ninevah with the objective to bring justice and kill the man who separated him from his beloved family.

Kalam, un joven médico procedente de la ciudadde Assur, emigra con su esposa Damkira y su hijo Nabui a Nínive, capital del imperio asirio. Gracias a sus habilidades médicas, consigue salvar la vida del todopoderoso rey Assarhaddon. Éste, como agradecimiento, le nombra su médico personal y Kalam se traslada con su familia al palacio real. Pero poco le dura la felicidad al joven médico. Assarhaddon se encapricha de Damkira e intenta alejarle de ella enviándole a la guerra contra los temibles cimerios. Comienza así un largo peregrinaje que le llevará desde el Egipto de los faraones hasta el Kushan de los yuezhi. El odio y los deseos de venganza guiarán sus pasos de nuevo hasta Nínive con el objeto de hacer justicia y asesinar al hombre que lehabía separado de su amada familia.
