The Masters Ball is a light-hearted mystery set in the boozy, affluent world of English-style foxhunting. The novel introduces reluctant amateur sleuth Annabelle Farley, who sets out to solve the murder of her friend, Edmund Evans, a Master of Foxhounds who is killed the night of the glamorous Masters Ball in New York City. From there the action moves to the picturesque foxhunting country of middle Tennessee, where more murder and mayhem ensue. Annabelle, who is more accustomed to riding horses and mixing cocktails than catching killers, is joined by a cast of unconventional characters, including the ghost of the departed himself. The cover features gorgeous watercolor interpretation of scenes from the novel by artist Poppy Hall.
