Sarah L. Barrow was an American author and the daughter of the more famous Frances Elizabeth Barrow (1822-1894) who was known by her pen-name Aunt Fanny. Sarah used the pen-name Aunt Fanny's Daughter to write the Sock Stories series of books published in 1862. Aunt Fanny's readers would have been familiar with Sarah, since she had been mentioned in several of the frame stories in earlier series. Titles in the series include: Red, White, and Blue Socks - Part First; Red, White, and Blue Socks - Part Second; German Socks; Funny Little Socks; Funny Big Socks and Neighbor Nelly Socks.
