Summary of... Part 1

Laura Balous, a washed up filmmaker, finds herself the survivor of the Last War and the leader of a small community in Monterey, California, that somehow make it through the destruction. While waiting for the biochemicals and radiation that permeates the atmosphere to hopefully dissipate enough for them to return to the “outside”, a sometimes mysterious, sometimes humorous, Army Colonel manipulates the neighborhood of survivors, connected on a system of walkie talkies, into following Laura. Laura will learn not only what power means, but how her family’s bounds will be needed to guide her moral compass.

Part I of The Survivor Diaries, Monte Vista Village (Book 1) is being offered for free, by the author. The entire book is set for a January, 2014 release. Can a group of peaceful characters really survive in a post-apocalyptic landscape? Or will they find war and violence the only way to wade through the Toxic Soup?
