It’s Christmas. Eleven-year old Peter spends the holidays at his grandparents’ strange and ancient house in the middle of a wood. Heavy snow, the heaviest for years, falls and keeps on falling.
Time slips from the present to the deep past. Such cold awakens memories from long-forgotten Ages, ten sixty-six after the Battle of Hastings and further back, to the time of Albion, when mists hid the land and fire-worshippers practiced their arts.
Peter, shy, insecure, fearful, but curious, is thrust into events where the opportunity to change history beckons. There is magic, though it is fickle and unreliable. There are allies, though he learns fast who he can trust. There is danger, where lives change in dramatic and un-looked for ways. Which, by the end, includes his too.
And through the Ages, the snow falls...
