Alex can't filter his overwhelming telepathy. Dash's emotions affect the environment. Everything seems helpless until they're contacted through their dreams, by a strange man named Red. They're told to help a girl named Violet who will seek them out for their help in finding a missing Hybrid, a man that can help with their burdens—but to the boys' disappointment the one missing is Violet's boyfriend.
