As the last of the summer tourists pull their boats out of Newfound Lake and close up their beachside cabins, the town is celebrating the grand opening of a new art space, Euphoria. Librarian Rebecca Ramsey and her fiancé, Chief Kenny Towne, are meeting up with some of the library volunteers for a night out before the non-summer routines settle in. A paint and sip date sounds like just the way to enjoy each other’s company on a Friday night.

The gathering goes off without a hitch, which seems suspicious to the crime-solving duo. They let their guard down about twenty-four hours too early when a death that shows no signs of foul play is discovered.
